Building Project Overview

Phase 1

Phase 1 of our building project will be a modest facility of about 6,000 square feet. It will include a multi-purpose gathering space, a nursery, a fireside room, a kitchen, classrooms and some additional support space. Exterior features will include a well-lit parking lot and a drive-under canopy at the main entrance.  We will be sharing this facility with our sister congregation the Amigos en Cristo Church, who will meet at a different time for worship.

Phase 1 represents about 1/3rd of the eventual building.

On August 13th, 2009 construction began. The construction process has continued since then.  It's been wonderful to watch the progress made each week to the project.  Be sure to check out the link below for pictures.

Why are we building?

We believe a church building should fulfill two primary functions.

First, it is a home in the sense of housing for both our congregation and Amigos en Cristo congregation. It is where our congregations will "live" out the life God has called us to as his body. We'll gather there for worship, fellowship, education, prayer, administration, and a wide variety of other things that take place in the life of a congregation.

Secondly, it is a tool in the sense that it will help us carry out our mission. Besides living together as his body, we are called to be his ambassadors, carrying on his work. It is our mission to reach out to the world with the message of hope and acts of compassion. Our building must be a resource that facilitates our carrying out that mission.
